11th Annual Power Networking Conference
Dallas, TX - June 28-30
Sheila Gilmore, Everett Glenn and Chevene King of the National Sports Authority joined over 800 Black professionals, business owners and community leaders for the 11th Annual PowerNetworking Conference (PNC) in Dallas, TX at the Dallas Inter-Continental Hotel from June 28th-30th.
Featured speakers included Darrell Miller, co-chair of the Sports & Entertainment Group at Fox Rothschild, Lisa Nichols, CEO of Motivating the Masses, the Apprentice winner and founder, chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, Dr. Randal Pinkett, Lisa Sasevich, founder of the Invisible Close, Ambassador Shabazz, the oldest daughter of Malcom X and Kym Yancy, founder of eWomenNetwork. Trainers and coaches included Lavon Lewis, President, PencilWorks Design Group, Trey Brady, President of Flava Consulting, Brother Bedford, President of Global Marketing and Publishing, and Andrew Morrison, President of smallBUSINESScamp. The training schedule for the conference included sessions on packaging your passion for profits, the laws of no matter what, embracing your legacy, creating a social media strategy and plan, and branding your way to higher profits and transforming your inner game to create massive results.
Black, Cool & Brilliant Awards were awarded to Barry Donalson, CEO, MMG Marketing, Darrell Miller, Magnus Greaves, Co-Founder, 100 Urban Entrepreneurs, and Tom Joyner, host of the Tom Joyner Show. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to John Wooten, Chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance. Affectionately known as the “Godfather”, John’s NFL career has spanned over 50 years as a player and front office executive. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to John in recognition of the contributions John has made to the game and his efforts behind the successful diversity movement in the NFL, promoting equality of job opportunity in the coaching, front office and scouting staffs of NFL teams. The Alliance was established in honor of Fritz Pollard, the first African American to play in a Rose Bowl Game, the first to quarterback an NFL championship team, and the first to coach in the NFL.
